Club History

Egypt go into the World Cup ranked 44th in the FIFA World Rankings. The team is led by Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah. The forward is just one of a handful of Egyptian players plying their trade with teams outside of the country’s domestic league. Hector Cuper has turned Egypt into a brilliant defensive team. The side is happy to play on the counterattack using Salah’s pace to attack is the team’s strength. Egypt has only qualified for the World Cup three times in its history, and this year marks the country’s first appearance since 1990. Despite being a formidable team at the African Nations Cup, the Pharoahs have a lot to prove on the World Cup stage.
