Volgograd Arena is a new stadium which is built in the beautiful city of Volgograd, Russia. The stadium opens a beautiful view to the Volga River. It is built especially for serving as a venue for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The stadium replaced the central stadium which was opened in 1962. In 2014 the old stadium was demolished and the construction of the new stadium started in 2015. The new stadium was completed in 2017. The stadium have a capacity of 45,000 seats which will be reduced 45,000 after the world cup. After the world cup the arena will be home for the club FC Rotor Volgograd.
2018 FIFA World Cup is the first event that is going to be held in the brand new stadium. Four group matches will be held at the stadium
