Mordovia Arena also known as Saransk Arena, is the stadium which is located in Saransk, Russia. The stadium was designed in 2010 and after re-designing many times, the construction work started in 2012. The construction was stopped due to unavailability of financial resources and in 2014 the work started off again. The stadium was planned to be completed by 2017, but is still under construction.
The stadium can hold a capacity of 45,000 spectators for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, but this will be reduced to 28, 000 after the match.
After the world cup, the stadium will be the home for the club FC Mordovia Saransk.
The 2018 FIFA World cup will be the first event that will be hosted in the stadium. Four group matches will be held at the stadium. The test match is scheduled on 21st April, 2018
