Kaliningrad Stadium will be opened for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The stadium is also called Arena Baltika. This is located in Kaliningrad, Russia. The stadium is built on Oktyabrsky Island. This Multi-sports Arena has a seating capacity of 35,000 ,which will be reduced to 25,000 after the world cup. After the FIFA 2018, the Arena will be the home for the club FC Baltika Kaliningrad. The stadium was planned as a replacement of the old home Baltika Stadium of club FC Baltika Kaliningrad.
The design of the stadium was adapted from the Allianz Arena, Germany. The Construction of the stadium started in 2015. Due to many difficulties the project was stopped. The project was restarted in 2016 and the work was expected to complete by the end of 2017. The estimated project cost was €257 million
The first event to be held at the in the brand new stadium is the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
