Surprisingly or not Argentina did not win its opening game of the 2018 FIFA World Cup against the debutants from Iceland. The game finished as a draw (1-1) but the most interesting moment was the missed penalty by Leo Messi.
Regardless of all that the player of the game was the goalie of Iceland Hannes Halldorsson who not only saved the penalty of Messi but also disappointed most of the forwards of Argentina. Moreover, Argentina shot the ball towards the goal of Iceland more than 20 times.
In general, the first half of the game started as expected with a dominance of Argentina. There were some chances for the Europeans as well but in general, Argentina was the better team. The most expected thing happened 19th minute when Sergio Aguero opened the score with an amazing shot.
Somehow the national football team of Iceland was able to quickly make the scored even after a goal of Alfred Finnbogason.
From that point forward the half was pretty even and both teams had some chances. The second half was slightly different and Argentina was destroying its opponent. In the 64th minute, Argentina won a penalty that surprisingly was missed by Leo Messi. Until the end of the game, Argentina was dominating but the amazing saves of Hannes Halldorsson gave the first point of Iceland in their history at World Cups.
