The whole African continent is celebrating after the great win of the Super Eagles from Nigeria against Iceland (2-0). The three points for the Nigerians did not come really easy and in most parts of the game Iceland was holding the ball and trying to create goal scoring chances. The first half of the game was really even and there were basically the minimal amount of serious goal chances in front of both goals.

The situation was not similar in the second half and the Nigerians started the period with a deadly counter-attack in the 49th minute. After a perfect cross from Victor Moses, the forward of Nigeria Ahmed Musa scored an amazing goal that gave the lead to the Africans.

After this goal, Iceland tried to attack Nigeria with even more players, but this ended up as a bad decision since Nigeria’s best weapon is the counter-attacks. After another great counter-attack, the amazingly quick Ahmed Musa scored a second goal that ended the hopes of the Europeans. Moreover, Iceland missed a penalty in the 83rd minute which finally despaired the Vikings. The game finished with a 2-0 win for Nigeria and hopes for the Africans that they can dream about the Round of 16 stage of the World Cup.
